In ancient times it was named Ydrousa, Kea for the majority of its visitors, Tzia, for its friends. It is the sixth island of the Cyclades referring to its size with extent of 131 kms, the nearest island to Attiki which makes Kea or Tzia ideal for two-day or bigger duration vacations. Kea or Tzia is an island with a shape of almond with many beauties. A rich inland, deep gorges, mountains with royal oaks unique in the Cyclades, many country churches and farmhouses.
