About Us
Thy Will Children’s Mission is a non-profit organization that was first started in 2001 by Kgomotso Nonyane currently a student at UNISA , living in Johannesburg .While attending Rhodes University at the time he encountered a lot of poverty around the small town of Grahamstown, which led him to spending and sharing some of his monthly allowance , lunch and supper with both street children and old people of Grahamstown.
While at Rhodes university he started approaching some of his fellow residence mates to donate old shoes and clothing which were then distributed to those in need. It was these small gestures that led him to start approaching big organizations like Makro, Keedo Children’s Clothing , Macaroni Children’s Clothing and Seslim Textile , which generously showed an interest in the project.
TWCM Vision
Our vision is to develop a family-friendly organization where children are assisted in their development regardless of their socio-economic status. TWCM will assist children who are seeking help for numerous health and human services under one roof. From early learning, counseling to rehabilitation therapy, TWCM will be the location to take your child to receive either direct assistance or referrals.
Mission
• To function as a voluntary, collaborative, community-focused organization designed to meet the needs of our community by raising sponsorship for different charity organisations.
• Channel financial support into existing projects which help to build communities around the country from the bottom-up.
• Provide honest informative feedback to each project supporter on how their donation has been spent.
• Involve each supporter personally in a project via project news and feedback
Progress & Achievement
As of December 2005 the TWCM had fundraised and distributed food parcels, blankets, shoes and clothing to four charity organisations in the Gauteng Region. These donations were distributed in an open and accountable manner such that donors know exactly how donations have been distributed. During the two year period of TWCM 100% of raised donations have gone directly to projects. All additional administration expenses have not been covered for fundraising activities, as the project’s main objectives and believes is to help the needy.
Over the next year TWCM will aim to expand the donor base and improve on the communication with donors. We will continue to ensure that accurate records are kept and that projects use all donor funding in an effective and accountable manner.
We are proud of the distance we have come and welcome ongoing support both in terms of time and resources.
